64th ANNUAL LOS ALAMOS OLD DAYS CELEBRATION IS SEPTEMBER 24-26, 2010

Los Alamos, Santa Barbara County, CaliforniaThe family fun-filled 64th annual Los Alamos Old Days Celebration is Friday, September 24 through Sunday, September 26, 2010, in the center of this traditional old-west style community. Los Alamos is located just an hour north of Santa Barbara and twenty minutes south of Santa Maria at the intersection of US Highway 101 and State Highway 135 ( Bell Street ) in the heart of wine country. This year’s theme is “Los Alamos Valley Celebrates America!”

Admission is FREE and the public is invited. Thousands gather each year to honor, preserve and celebrate the town’s authentic Western heritage. Events are sponsored by the Los Alamos Valley Men’s Club—a local philanthropic membership group open to men, women and families—dedicated to preserving the town’s unique character and hospitality; as well as providing scholarships and funding to local students and organizations.

Highlights of the weekend celebration include plenty of FREE entertainment, two-day Peddlers Mart, Saturday’s Classic Car Show and Sunday morning’s “Greatest Little Small Town Parade.” This year’s Parade Grand Marshall is Robert G. “Bobby” Smith, who moved to Los Alamos in 1938 and was raised by his great-grandparents who had owned property at Bell Street and Foxen Lane since 1907 that is still owned and occupied by the Smith family today.
