California people like to drive places and they seem to be driven to get out and explore not matter the cost of gas. While prices are on the rise, you can take advantage of festivals, fairs, concerts, wine tasting, art and other special interest function and fundraisers so the calendar offers even more assistance as you seek event nearby.

Tourists and travelers often will search for events once they know they are visiting a destination...and some will plan a trip around an event of interest. Popular such trips surround history re-enactments and encampments, music festivals, art festivals and even surfing.

Extreme sports thrills are extremely popular in California and events that surround them at beaches, convention centers and other venues thrive from this type of activity. From hundreds of surfing competitions in the Pacific Ocean to skateboarding, and King of Dirt championships to the more refined sports requiring tennis whites, golf etiquette and the ever popular basketball, baseball, football, hockey and soccer, every day of the year bring news challenges and thrills for the sports enthusiast who follows their favorite teams. While the professional groups and clubs do a fairly good job of promoting themselves, we hear most often and receive submissions from the up-and-coming organizations or small town fundraisers seeking to support a special program through event sales.

We welcome your event submissions and request that you send them. Unfortunately we are not always able to post them and do request you send them as soon as you receive the dates so we can provide you more play for the public to become aware of your great production, big or small. We've batted around the idea for fee-based submissions for those who seek a guarantee that their event will be published. If that's of interest to you, let us know and we'll place the priority of putting such a plan in place. For now, free submissions is one of the great projects we do to help the community.
